Growing Dahlia’s from seed is an exciting adventure as seeds are unpredictable and do not grow true to parent plants. This means you produce new unique plants from each seed. Growing Dahlias from seed is how breeders produce new dahlia varieties.
Collecting viable seed is a lengthy process and each seed has been individually hand harvested by us. Seed from this collection will form part of our breeding program. As we have too much seed to plant ourselves we are releasing some of our surplus seed.
Plants grown from this mix will be a surprise. You never know what type of bloom will develop and what dahlia discovery is waiting for you to find. Share your favourite blooms with us. We cannot wait to see what you grow.
Seeds per packet :: 15
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
Sow seeds into moist, well draining seed raising mix approx 1/4 inch deep. Place in a warm position. Keep moist but not wet. Transplant when they are large enough to handle. Space plants 30-60cm apart.
We post around Australia, but please note we are unable to ship to WA, TAS or NT at this point in time. Thank you for your understanding.
